Ludo Guul is a Ludo game you can play on ludoguul.com and in the Ludo Guul app. We collect as little as we can. There are no accounts, no passwords and no real-money play.
When you play online, you choose a display name and a buddy (a cartoon character from a fixed set in the game, in one of the four Ludo colours). Other players in your match or tournament can see both. During a match you can send short preset messages such as "Play fast!"; there is no free-text chat. If you host, your invite link's preview (for example in WhatsApp) shows your display name and how many players have joined. Do not use your full name or anything private as a display name.
In private games you hear the other players who have turned on their microphone, and you can turn their voices off, for one player or for everyone. We ask for your microphone only when you turn yours on, and you can turn it off at any time. Voices go directly between the players' devices, encrypted, and are never recorded or stored. When a direct connection is not possible, the encrypted audio is relayed through Cloudflare, which cannot listen to it. Our game server only passes along the setup messages that connect players and whether each player's microphone is on. If you refuse microphone access you can still listen.
Your browser or the app keeps your display name, your buddy, your settings, a random device ID, and the keys that let you rejoin a match or tournament you are in. These stay on your device. Clearing site data or uninstalling the app removes them.
To run online matches and tournaments, our server keeps the game state, the display names and buddies in it, and the random device ID (used to stop players a host has removed from rejoining). Your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse and is not stored with your games. Lobbies and tournaments are deleted automatically, at most 24 hours after they are created.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the game is used, for example which modes people play and whether matches finish. Google Analytics receives information about your device and browser, your approximate location, and the game events you trigger. IP addresses are anonymized. We do not use this information to identify you and we do not sell it.
When the website, the app or our game server hits an error, a report is sent to Sentry so we can fix it. A report holds the technical details of the error, the page or screen, your device, browser and operating system, and the app version. We switch off the collection of cookies, form contents and request contents. Sentry may record your IP address so we can spot abuse such as automated attacks. Reports are kept for up to 90 days.
Ludo Guul does not show ads today. If that changes, this policy will be updated before ads appear.
Ludo Guul is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Because there are no accounts, the data we hold is limited to the short-lived game data above. You can block analytics with your browser or device settings. To ask a question or request deletion of anything related to you, contact us at the address below.
